I've been feeling a bit orf colour the last three days and in that time I have realised how much I love coffee - because I ain't had none. Tea is all very well and good (and, remember, I am a recent convert to tea) but it's a miserable replacement for a cup of coffee in the morning.
I've just been reading about something called a 'Cortado' which is espresso with an exact percentage of steamed milk added to it. Exact. Get it wrong and it becomes something else. I like that kind of a challenge.
I'm not going to have any coffee until the weekend, but then I will be extremely enjoying it. And maybe I'll have a chocolate croissant with it - to celebrate.

ReplyDeletewe could have a blog about coffee alone.
it is a life force. it is a divider of people.
i like coffee her indoors makes. especially the few crazy days a year we can have it iced. yum-diddly-scrum-delicous.
otherwise i like, sorry to say and embarrassed to admit it, crap coffee (ie sweet hot milk) from starbucks. i have said it out loud. i am a non-believer.
the husband is devastated. unimpressed.
nothing better than a whiff of freshly ground coffee beans though. up there with freshly mown grass, a sunday roast a cooking and calamine lotion.
ps why does no on about me post messages??
ReplyDeleteam i a freak? am i not supposed to??
i am not savvy as to the way of blogs. but i feel WEIRD.
pps i challenge some of the other blog readers to state their claim.
ReplyDeletestand up and be counted.
GCB writes brilliantly. she agitates, expounds, entices us to consider, encourages a giggle or two, elicits a briny drop, expounds words of wisdom aplenty or just makes us think 'yay' or 'nay', 'yah' or 'boo'. n'est-ce pas? think you not?
ye naywriters, post a post!
stand up and be counted.
or i just look a fooly-fool.
I often write to the author privately- just sent a long email to her about coffee - mainly because I could never work out how to set up a blogg-o-profile but you have inspired me as you are quite right: GCB's fab blog deserves public admiration, medals and so forth.
ReplyDeleteDon't say it too loud, but it's possible you're the only two readers of this blog. According to the stats I get 250 hits a month, but Kim is the only regular voice I hear coming back from the darkness. I blame Blogger. But if anybody else would like to make themselves known, it would make me very happy!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kim. Thank you Artist. Mars Bars for both. xx
excellent stuff! i now feel like i am part of a 'social network' (three makes a network right?). 250 hits a months is amazing!
