287. Picpoul de Pinet*
I reckon this wine is a marketing ploy. It appeared so suddenly, and became ubiquitous so quickly, that part of me is convinced it's a new ruse from one of the big wine makers.
It's white, it's from the Loire, it's dry and tastes of minerals and it's delicious. So I don't care if it's authentic, or not.
*It's not a marketing ploy. It is real. I'm just feeling a bit jaded and weary today.

how curious. I've never heard of it. clearly it is not a marketing ploy in nunhead tesco metro.
ReplyDeletei will say that loire wines are generally to be trusted (in my limited experience). I know a soupcon of such things because you recommended me for that au paid job where i had to go to the loire and, with great difficulty, drink many delicious loire wines.
in fact, my only and best experience with a sommelier (chez bruce) was to ask about a saumur (loire) wine, only to have my suggestion fully supported. it happened to be the place where, as an au pair, i had stayed. it was fully delicious and appreciated muchly by all diners.
how ironic then, that i was pregnant (unknown to the others) and could only indulge in the initial tasting. MH did very well out of the arrangement, i recall.
