(ONLY 50 TO GO! COME ON, PEOPLE, WE CAN DO THIS!)
Ah, Nat King Cole. Silky smooth all the way, baby, and never better than on the Christmas Song. It's got a rubbish name, but it's a lovely tune and helps set up the feeling of Christmas better than any number of Swedish jumpers or glasses of Glogg ever could.

go GCB. there are some things which embody christmas, even if they are not family traditions, and this is one of them. in trying to be a good matriarch, i bought a 3 'XMAS!!!' CD from Sainsbury (£3 - bargain) and this comes first - it brings the festive spirit into your room. I would add, that in the 40s/50s Christmas songs must have been something of a gravy train as people you would not think, popped them out like a night after an (apt) Jerusalem artichoke super. rosemary clooney and frank sinatra i'm looking at you
